It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our dear husband, dad and pepère Raymond Delorme.
Dad was born on March 5 1940 at St. Boniface hospital. He is predeceased by his parents Joseph Wilfred and Lillianne Delorme, sister Madeleine Simard and brothers Philippe and Jean-Marc Delorme and a grandchild Maxime Delorme.
He leaves to mourn his wife Noëlla, sons Marcel (Marie-Paule) and Donald (Julie) Delorme, and daughter Jo-Anne (Darrell) Hildebrand, and grandchildren Richmond, Gabrielle, Serge, Marilou, Alec Delorme, Eric, Matthew and Jayden Hildebrand, and brother Claude Delorme.
Dad grew up in St. Joseph on his parents’ farm where his life as a farmer started and ended. Dad had a great love for the farm life which consisted of grain and dairy farming. That passion lives on through his sons and some of his grandsons. Dad loved and was so proud of his grandchildren. Some way or another with his sayings or his mannerisms he would always make them laugh. He was a member of the Canadian Seed Growers Association for many years. He served on the board of directors of the St. Joseph Co-op for many years. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus. For many years he sat in the Altona mall selling raffle tickets for the Knights of Columbus. He more so enjoyed visiting with the numerous people that stopped at his table.
Dad was a very hard working and generous man. He provided well for his family and to his community. Dad battled through health issues such as open heart surgery in 2008 and colon cancer in 2011. As soon as he was strong enough he was back working in the fields. He never stopped until his very last breath.
God put this wonderful man on earth to build a strong and loving family. God saw that this task was fulfilled and called him to his heavenly home.
The mass of resurrection will be held Saturday May 6, 2017 at 10:30 am with prayers at 10am at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in St. Joseph, MB.
We would like to thank the ambulance attendants, the Letellier fire department and the staff at the Altona Hospital for their support.
Donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
