Lloyd Yurett

Lloyd George Yurett, age 86 years of Altona, formerly of Brandon, MB passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at the Altona Memorial Health Centre. Lloyd was born on March 26, 1938 to Herman and Etta Katherine (Little) Yurett in Waweig, New Brunswick.

He is survived by his wife Nettie, his children Gordon (Terry) Yurett, Ken (Wendy) Yurett, and Barb (Douglas) Carmichael, as well as his step children Mike Letkeman, Tammy (James) Friesen, Deb (Terry) Klassen, Carole (Shawn) Tarnick, and John (Maxine) Letkeman. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, and two sisters Linda Mary (George) Fanjoy, and Darlene Kinney. He was predeceased by his parents, his 1» wife Elaine Yurett, 1 brother David Yurett, 1 Brother-in-law Marshall Kinney and 1 granddaughter Erica Klassen.

Lloyd served in the Canadian Armed forces from November 1958 and retired in December 1981with 2 posts in Germany as a Mechanic. After Retiring from the Army he began his work in the ministry and served as an officer in the Salvation Army for 18 years.

The Family would like to thank all the Doctors and Nurses at the Altona Memorial Health Center for the kindness and care they provided over the past several month's. Special thanks to Pastor Mike Burnetto for his many visits over the past several months.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 2:00 p.m. at the Altona Sommerfeld Mennonite Church. Interment will follow at the Brandon Cemetery at a later date. Viewing will be at Wiebe Funeral Home Altona on Friday, May 24 from 1:00 - 6:00 p.m.
