Linda Friesen (nee Dueck)

On Wednesday, February 2^nd, 2022, at the Health Science Centre, Linda Susan Friesen passed away at the age of 71 years.

She was predeceased by her parents, Abe & Susan Dueck, and brother, Dennis Dueck.

Left to cherish her memory is her beloved husband Jim, their children, Chris & Carmen, Jeff & Julia, and Mike & Tina. Their grandchildren Brooklyn, Kiana, Sam, Brookelle, Taryn, Tommy, Dawson, Brittany, Liam, Lanea, Kinzie. And her brothers, Larry Dueck, Ken Dueck, and Ron Dueck.

Mom was born in Altona and lived in various places before settling on the farm in Schoenthal. She attended school in Schoenthal and Altona until grade 11-ish. Mom left school to work at the sewing factory before being swept away by dad and getting married in 1968. Mom and Dad lived the next 51 years on the farm in Halbstadt, growing a business and 3 boys, helping in the community through countless hours of 4-H, teaching Sunday school at church, cooking noodle soup and borscht for the bonspiel, along with volunteering at turkey suppers. Mom and Dad retired to town in 2019.

Mom enjoyed any activities her family was involved in, especially her grandkids. From sports and concerts to family fishing trips, mom poured herself into the family.

Mom had a genuine love for people and will be dearly missed by all those she touched.

A private funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 8^th, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. A live stream of the service will be available by clicking on the following link (Linda Friesen Livestream).

A public interment will follow the service at 3:00 p.m. at the Blumenthal Cemetery.

Viewing will be at Wiebe Funeral Home Altona on Monday, February 7, from 1:00-7:00 p.m.
