In the early morning hours of March 28, 2022 our beloved dad, papa, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, Henry Lloyd Antoine passed into the spirit world at the Altona Hospital at the age of 76.

Dad was predeceased by his parents William Antoine and Mary Accobee, son Brian Hayden, brother Norman Antoine, sister Helen Antoine and good friends Ernie James and Herbert Martin.

Left to cherished Dads memory are his partner in life Shirley Hayden, sons Danny Hayden, Dale Hayden (Vanessa), Henry Hayden, daughter Ashley Hayden (Leon), numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, brothers Felix Antoine, James Antoine, sister Georgina Antoine as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Dad was born on the Roseau River Anishinaabe First Nation Reserve on March 26, 1946. Dad was a Residential School Survivor who attended the Camperville and Pine Creek residential schools and the Indian Day School in Roseau River Anishinaabe First Nation. Dad met mom in 1965 and the raised a family together until 1987 when they separated but continued to maintain a friendship for their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Dad had many careers in his life which consisted of: Education Assistant, Bus Driver, Human Resource Worker, Program Coordinator with G.E.T.S Inc. and Medical Drive or Ginew Wellness Center.

Our dad had a good sense of humor, was a gentle, caring, kind and loving man who loved his family very much. Dad enjoyed hockey, travelling, music, family gatherings, spending time with his grandkids and great grandkids, golfing and playing VLTs. Dad also took pleasure in helping community members achieve their employment goals and went out of his way to help them achieve their employment status.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Roseau River Chief & Council, DOCFS, Sheldon Smith and family, all the people that cooked and donated food for the wake and funeral service, the fire keepers and everyone who stopped by to pay their respects and offer kind words.  We would also like to thank the Altona and Morris Hospitals for caring for our dad as well as the staff at the Elders Lodge in Roseau River.

Wake and Services were held at Charlie Nelsons Lodge March 29 - 31st 2022.  Funeral was held on April 1, 2022.

Pallbearers were: Troy Smith, Hunter Hayden, Brandon Hayden, Addison Hayden, Robin Daniels, Billy Nelson, Leon Smith, and Herbie Smith.
