H. Grant Nickel

On June 18, 2023, my grandpa died in his home on the yard that he loved at the age of 81. He will be remembered and missed by his wife Leona (nee Hildebrand), his children Kevin (Jackie) and Kurt (Heather), his grandkids Raven (Jonah), Tori (Cory), Mattea, and Cole, and his great grandkids Hailey, Austin, and Asha. He will also be missed by his steadfast companion, Hoku the dog.

My grandpa spent his entire life living and farming near Rosenfeld, MB. He was dependable, friendly, and generous, and was happiest offering his help to friends and strangers alike. He cared deeply about his community and would indulge his grandkids’ many questions about how the area of Rosenfeld had changed over the years.

In the last years of his life, he spent many hours on the side-by-side with Hoku, sitting in the gazebo eating peanuts, enjoying his great grandkids, and keeping a close eye on the farming operations on the yard. I hope you were lucky enough to know my grandpa. He will be missed.

A private celebration of Grant's life will be held at a later date.
