Dorothy Reimer (nee Falk)

Dorothy was born on April 1,1932 in Schoenthal. She was the youngest of 11 children. She grew up on the farm, attended school in Schoenthal, and at the age of 14 moved to Altona with her parents. Her mother passed away when Dorothy was 16.

She worked at various jobs in Altona and at The Eaton’s Mail Order in Winnipeg. She returned to Altona where she met and married Abe Reimer in July of 1953. They were happily married for over 50 years and had two children, Terrance (Tracy) in 1954 and Deborah (Barry) in 1956. Dorothy stayed at home until the children were of school age and then she returned to the workforce at D. W. Friesen’s where she worked until she retired in 1983. She leaves two grandsons, Jereme and Stephen.

Dorothy and Abe were founding members of The United Church in Altona. She was an active member all her life. She enjoyed curling, reading, hand work, movies and gardening. She enjoyed road trips with Abe in retirement.

Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Abe, her parents Cornelia (Wiebe) Falk and Jacob W. Falk and her brothers and sisters, her in-laws Heinrich and Margaret Reimer and Abe’s siblings. May she rest in peace.

A private funeral service will be held and burial will take place at the Altona Cemetery.
