Donovan Adam Shane Klassen

Donovan Adam Shane was born September 10, 1980 in the Calgary Foothills Hospital to the delight of Lynn Goertzen and Pete Klassen, and greatly welcomed by older sister Rachel who was deeply loving of and attentive to her baby brother.

As a kid he loved lady bugs, Spiderman, He-Man, picnicking and going fishing, camping and to McDonald’s with Grandma and Grandpa Goertzen.  Schools Shane attended were Heritage Christian, Woods and Van Horne in Calgary where he was well-liked for his love of fun and school-skipping antics.

Shane was intellectually brilliant; he had an incredible wit, loved animals, was intuitive and wise beyond his years.  He was loving, gentle, empathetic and loyal.  He was the cutest kid, with a determined cowlick that could not be tamed, and a gorgeous man who turned heads everywhere he went.

The name Shane means, God’s Gift; and that he was.  We, his family and friends, are immensely grateful that God blessed us with Shane for 35 years before He took him back home.

A service for family and close friends will be held at Wiebe Funeral Home in Winkler, Manitoba with burial to follow at the Reinfeld Cemetery.
