Corrine Sawatzky

With her family by her side, Corrine Mae Sawatzky, wife, mom, and nana passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2024 at the Boundary Trails Health Center. She passed away at the age of 60 years.

Corrine was pre-deceased by her parents in-laws, Dave and Anne Sawatzky, by grand children Meela Jae and Lincoln Jett.

She is Lovingly remembered by her beloved husband Cliff Sawatzky, of Altona. Her children Vanessa and Darryl Toews, Michael and Jaime Sawatzky, Deandra and Steve Braun and Travis and Desirae Veeder. Her Grandchildren Jessie, Deegan, Riley, and Jaxson, Avery and Myles, Lennox and Tucker, and Jayden, Carter and Paisley. Her parents Bill and Dora Driedger, one sister, two brothers, extended family and many friends.

Corrine Mae Sawatzky was born on May 16, 1964. She was married to the love of her life, Cliff Sawatzky, on September 13, 1980. Corrine and Cliff celebrated their enduring love by renewing their vows in Cabo San Lucas in 2006, surrounded by many cherished family and friends.

Corrine was a devoted mother to Vanessa (born 1982), Mike (born 1986), Deandra (born 1988), and Travis Veeder who became part of the family in 2008. She was also a beloved Nana to her grandchildren, whose lives she enriched with her boundless love and affection.

Known for her stubbornness yet admired for her loving, supportive, and humorous nature, Corrine always prioritized the needs of others over her own. She found joy in simple pleasures such as watching golf, enjoying Sunday Funday’s, swimming with friends and family, she loved to make salsa, relish, jam, pickles and canned tuna, and breeding dogs for 25 years, and together with Cliff they really enjoyed their annual six weeks of holidays in the warm and sunny Mexico. 

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of Corrine's life was held on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 10:30 a.m. at the Altona EMM Church, with burial at the Weidenfeld Cemetery.
