Barry J. Braun, age 58 years of Altona, Manitoba, passed away on Thursday, September 8, 2016 at the Altona Memorial Health Centre.
He is survived by his wife Tammy, their sons Andrew Braun (partner Nellie Klassen), Mitchell Braun (Taylor LaRocque), and Joey Braun (fiancé Isabel Dib). He is also survived by his mother Anita Braun, sisters Sharon (Elmer) Voth, Marilyn (Harold) Dick, and Lorraine (James) Nickel, mother-in-law Arlene Dick, sister-in-law Kim Dick (partner Roy Hales) and his many nieces and nephews and their children. He was predeceased by his father Jake N. Braun and his father-in-law Roy Dick.
Barry grew up on a farm a few miles outside of Altona, Manitoba and went on to farm alongside his dad Jake before eventually going on to work for Enbridge as a Pipeline Maintenance Technician.
Barry loved to travel with his wife Tammy, and they enjoyed many winter holidays in the Caribbean. He also loved to camp, and would spend many summer weekends in Cavalier with cherished family and friends. He took great pride in his home and loved to build, keeping himself and his sons busy with many projects around the farm and eventually their new home in Altona.
Barry loved to curl and golf, and was an avid Blue Bombers and Winnipeg Jets fan. He loved to spend time with his three boys, and took great pride in their professional, athletic and academic accomplishments.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at the Altona Memorial Health Centre as well as the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg for their compassion and care in Barry’s final days. Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, September 14th at 1:00 pm at the Rhineland Pioneer Centre in Altona. Cremation has taken place.
